Thread: Yankees 2023-2024 offseason

I think it is Dugo in LF for now. Dominguez will be the CFer after the ASB, so they don't need a long termer there. I would keep Judge where he is most comfortable. Now, if they get Soto, Judge moves to CF and we roll from there. But for now, Dugo LF, Judge RF, ??? in CF

I don't think it's guaranteed that Dominguez takes over as soon as he is healthy. The guy has barely played above AA. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't see him until Sep call ups

Yanks are "close to" finalizing a deal for Soto.

Apparently, the deal includes King, Thorpe and "at least 2 more players."
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

    LF: Soto
    CF: Judge
    RF: Dugo

    A nice upgrade.

I saw 3rd guy is likely brito or Vazquez. I'd prefer we got rid of brito

I think Brito could be a really good multi-inning reliever. He's a lot like King was a few years ago. Began as a starter but couldn't really harness his stuff, got sent to the bullpen and was able to use his starter's arsenal to be be really effective over few inning bursts. Personally I'd rather keep Brito over Vazquez.

    So

    C: Trevino
    1B: Rizzo
    2b: Torres
    SS: Volpe
    3B: Lemahieu
    LF- Soto
    CF- Judge
    RF- Verdugo
    DH- Stanton

That is an improved lineup. Glad we didn't part with any major offensive players. I loved King, but he only had two years of control left. Thorpe is the big get for SD.

With King out, it makes me think Yama is a gonna be a done deal to NY

    1. Cole
    2. Yama
    3. Cortes
    4. Rodon
    5. Schmidt

By dealing King, Vazquez and Brito, we definitely damage our depth in the pen. Probably need to make an add there.

Your pen depth might not be the biggest issue. Who is going to pick up those 20+ Rodon starts when he is out?

You sure these players are all in the trade? Have yet to see anything finalized.

Curry reported on air that King, Thorpe, Brito, Vasquez and catcher Kyle Higashioka are all likely to be included in the trade for Soto.

Does seem like a bit more than the Sox got for 1 year of Betts.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

Holmes, Jlo, Kahne, Hamilton, Effross is a great top 5.

    Gil as a long man.

Marincaccio is the wild card. And a lefty like krook or Ramirez. Not a bad bullpen at all.

Sure does, but I do think Downs was valued quite highly, at the time.
