That ignores Jeter hammering that ball to right, Bernie hitting a liner up the middle and Matsui smoking that ball down the RF line. That was 3 straight hard hit balls before Posada came up.
It is all second guessing. But Pedro did seem to want out of there. And even the finest automobile will not run if it is out of gas.

the other thing was that it was not the first time Grady left him in too long in a deciding game THAT POSTSEASON. It happened against the A's in the ALDS.
