    yes. I went from no way they sign Call to maybe they sign Call back to I don't think they sign Call.

    Call was for insurance if they couldn't sign Zanetello or Anderson, that's what I believed the day of the draft. Perhaps someone signs for way less than expected.

    We should have an idea soon enough, Anderson and Zanetello reportedly are both going above slot. Those top 3 picks probably take up around 8 million. Leaving 1.5 million for Duffy and Reimer, if those guys sign at slot that gives you enough to throw 600K at Call.

    Is that enough? doesn't sound like it but it could be because we don't know his asking price. If someone comes in lower, or on of their 2/3rd picks don't sign they can jus throw 1.5 2 million at him, or if both Zanetello and Anderson get over 2 million there just won't be any money left over for him.

    No HS player has ever signed above 475K after the 10th round from what I read yesterday.

    I don't see them missing out on either guy. Jud was a unique case. He fell far in the draft and still wanted top tier money. They have enough for the guys they drafted in the top 10 rounds. Call just may want to go to UCLA and hope to get a big paycheck in a few years.

    So then it's even more likely that Call is not signing.

    Unless the Sox fail to sign Anderson/Zantella (unlikley) they don't sign him. If one of those guys does not sign you have potentially 1 million + to play with to throw at him. unlikely to happen.

    My guess (hope?) is we get a draft signing announcement for most of the Red Sox class today. Seems everyone is putting pen to paper who's in Ft. Myers. In theory, they could wait for Teel and Zanetello, the latter having told @ChrisCotillo he's signing tomorrow.

    @ChrisCotillo
    I think a release is coming today. Teel BP likely today at Fenway

    I feel like they sign one of them. Someone gets less than thought somewhere and one of those guys takes less than thought. Maybe Schlaegel on 250K or something like that.

    This is pure speculation.

    @jimcallisMLB
    1st-rder Kyle Teel signs w/@RedSox for $4 million (pick 14 value = $4,663,100). @UVABaseball C, consensus best catcher in @MLBDraft, monster .407/.465/.655 year, very athletic for position, strong arm.

    Teel goes for $663k under slot.

    Currently, all picks are signed except for Riemer, Call, Schlaegel, Orloski. The 3 HS guys are most likely not going to sign. "Sources" have indicated that Riemer will sign before the deadline (Tuesday 5pm), that the hold up was just logistics of getting him to either Boston or the Fort. If he signs, it seems like it's another strong hitter focused draft.

    Thanks for staying on top of this.

    If Riemer signs, will there be enough bonus money left to entice one HS kid to sign and not go to college?

    Just wondering, and if yes, which one is most likely to sign?
