Giving up BP
Giving up BP
Game tied. Winck got lucky on the GIDP. But of course first he had to ensure no win for Paxton.
I don't mind criticizing Cora, but in this case Winck is one his mainstays in the bullpen and the perfect choice to go the 5th and 6th innings. Instead, just 2 outs.
On the other hand, he just brought in Bleier to do exactly what he did last time--give up a big hit that puts the Cardinals in the lead. Last time, with Houck removed, he gave up a 2 run dinger, also going lefty vs. lefty.

Looking at this Cards' line-up and then looking at their record; their pitching has to be a lot worse than Boston's.
Watching these games on NESN is similar to watching something on Public TV on donation night.

Two out of two Sox relievers so far have been just stinking awful. Who's next--Brasier?
I'm predicting Devers hits a dinger. Law of averages.
Disgusted. This team has 6 outs remaining.
Bernardino proves the point that guys like Brasier can be replaced very cheaply, if the guy we call up to take his place sucks.
Dime a dozen.
When you say it's gonna happen now
When exactly do you mean?
Bernardino has been a, wait for it, pleasant surprise.
The guys in the booth are talking about Wink as if he was going to be perfect every time out there. Wakefield, at least, should know better.
