    5/07 SOX @ Phillies 1:35PM ET

    Houck vs Walker(RH)

This may be a first. Batters 1-7 for the SOX are all LH.

    Dugo
    Masa(DH)
    Tapia(LF)
    Devers
    Duran
    Casas
    Valdez
    Kike
    Wong

Walker may have to change his Fruit Of The Looms when he sees this line-up.

    Go SOX!

Here's some surprising news. Arroyo has been placed on the 10 day IL with a hamstring sprain. That guy would probably get injured playing chess.
    Dalbec has been called up.

This is the ideal lineup against RHP.. I guess except maybe Jerk Off Man instead of Wong? But both are fine, one just handles the bat a little better and can really stroke it

Wong has an overall WAR of +1.2. McGuire's is +0.1.

    fWAR is

    0.6 Wong (78 PAs)
    0.3 McGuire (60 PAs)

No catcher is going to catch every game, and it looks like we are matching pitchers with their binkies.

If Wong keeps hitting, maybe we DH him, when he doesn't catch.

When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Speaking of bWAR, what would posters think our record would be, if I told you back in March, our 3 top bWAR players would be Dugo, Duran and Wong.

Of the 12 plus bWAR players on the Sox, 7 are...

    Duran
    Wong
    Tapia
    Valdez
    Chang
    Ref
    McGuire

And Duran has only played in 19 of our 35 games.

    Indeed!

Duvalll is still 5th, and he played just 8 games.

Valdez is +0,3 in 10 games

All our pitchers with more than a 2.0 bWAR are relievers:

    1.0 Wink
    0.6 Jansen (under 11 IP)
    0.6 Schreiber
    0.5 Crawford (some starts)
    0.4 Martin (just 10 IP)
    0.4 Bernardino (just 8.1 IP)

    fWAR
    0.6 Sale
    0.5 Jansen
    0.4 Wink
    0.3 Houck
    0.2 Schreiber
    0.1 Crawford, Bleier & Bernardino

    Hopefully we're not cheating.

In another world, a quick scan of SoCal sports news reveals that JD Martinez of the LAD is increasing his physical movement after 2 weeks off due to back injury . It's hard not to say much. JD was once a force in Boston.

Looking at the Angels vs the Rangers it was hard not to notice that Nate Eovaldi ( Rangers) followed up his complete game shutout of the Yankees last week with 8 innings of shutout work vs LAA. Nate's back is doing OK so far.
