Aroldis Chapman "slipped and fell" at home, split his lip and cracked a tooth.

At least they have Rojas. Imagine if the Sox lost Bogaerts; they'd have to move players all over the field.

You could be more recent since the Sox did lose their starting shortstop this year for the first few months…

Mondesi might be back before that... (though he has never played an inning at short for the Sox, like some other teammates).

If you have an athletic subscription, this "Joey Votto's commentary on the Oral History of Joey Votto" is terrific https://theathletic.com/4191913/2023...imes&smtyp=cur

Lots of talk down here in HOU about the pitch clock being part of the reason so many pitchers going on the IL.

    Your thoughts?

I think guys trying to make every fastball run between 95-98mph over a 5 inning stretch is a bigger factor…

Put it this way, there haven't been any changes in baseball that have been good for the physiology of a pitcher's arm...

You'd think bring the IP down for SP'ers from 280-310 to 180-210 would be a beneficial change, but they just throw harder, now.

    No more "pacing yourself."
