Mata may get his first look in the pen.

He may not need as much "adjusting," but his ceiling is lower than Bello's, IMO.

Start the freaking clock! Who cares about five years down the road, when they're all going to be either locked up on modern moderate salaries or dealt because they turned into really good players who will be too expensive for Boston Market to keep.

Mills did not do too well in AA (1.30 WHIP) but was sharp in AAA (0.995 with a 13.1 K/9 rate.)

I won't mention his MLB numbers in 42 IP.

He has a high BB rate which makes that FIP a lot higher than you'd like to see.

Maybe they think they can tweak something to help him improve. Other teams seem to do that all the time, and we do have the Schreiber example on our side.

You have a point here. Hang’em Chaim appears to believe in roster churn. The bulk of his deals are either 1 or 2 year deals.

I think that has been more out of necessity. Since the end of March, we've seen:

$140M/6 Story
$90M/5 Yoshida
$32M/2 Jansen
$17.5M/2 Martin

Maybe a 2 year deal for Kluber and or Andrus is in the works.

He might have as good a chance as any to win the 8th RP'er slot, but having an option probably means he begins the season in AAA, and so would be slotted 9th or lower, officially.
