WAR is good for something.
Let's face it, the potential problem with Bauer is that something like this is going to happen again.
And as we have seen, even if you're legally onside, it can make quite a mess.

If you're really into rough sex, you're probably going to run into a few low-lifers along the way, no? And if you're into rough sex and filthy rich, some of those low-lifers are going to want your money. The algebra is all pretty simple.

But my point is all of them got second chances. Or us the point that “we shouldn’t give Bauer a second chance because Julio Urias didn’t learn his lesson”?
MLB levied a punishment. Bauer served it. And now it appears he might have been the victim. Tthose other players committed their crimes, served their time, and got second chances. Bauer might not have committed a crime, did serve his time, and now you’re saying it’s not enough?

Well, you were getting pretty judgmental on his lifestyle in posts 64 and 65.
He’sb not going to get the money the Dodgers gave him. But I think he will do quite well.
What works for him and the Red Sox is that in the past, he has eschewed long term deals, and Henry has disparaged them.
I throw out 2yr/$55mill s the deal. But in think he ultimately sounds with the Mets, who have cleared out the top of their rotation recently and have money to spend.
Bauer can pitch. That’s never been in question. And for many teams, that’s also all that matters…
If you walk on the wild side, you are going meet some unsavory people. And some bad stuff will happen. You should have had better judgment. But I don't think you can take away a guy's livelihood because you think he might have done something wrong. Some MLB team will sign Bauer.
Old school is good school.
Seems to be a fairly judgmental crowd without regards to alternative lifestyles. You can meet unsavory people in church, too. In fact, it probably happens more often.
Bauer’s lifestyle is his business. And with the exception of this one case, he seems to be able to keep it under control. I do doubt this was his first time doing anything like this. Just the first time it got national coverage…
