    The Red Sox completed their trade with the White Sox where they acquired catcher Reese McGuire for a PTBNL and left-hander Jake Diekman. Taylor Broadway has been announced as the player to be named. Broadway is a 26-year-old right-handed reliever who made 40 appearances in the White Sox system this year. A majority of that came in Double-A, where he posted a 4.74 ERA in 49 1/3 innings. His strikeouts numbers were extremely impressive, punching out 74 hitters with just 14 walks. He was taken in the sixth round by Chicago last year out of Mississippi and has reported to the Sea Dogs.

    Way too short of a sample size, but catchers are notorious for developing late, and McGuire has the D to be a big league catcher.

    This Broadway kid looks like he could have the stuff to be a bullpen stud if everything breaks right.

    Would be assume This turned out to be like the heathclifd slocumb trade 2.0

    Romero went 2-5 (.959)
    Meidroth 1-5 (.955)

    Wikelman 5 IP 3H 1ER 1BB 4K (2.65 ERA) should be in POR, next season.

    Ward had a good night: 5IP 4H 0ER 2BB 5K (2.43 ERA)
    Abreu walked again! I think that's 105 or 106 on the season (2 Hits, too)
    Kavadas 3Ks (0-4) down to .723 in AA
    Mayer's HR and 2-4 brought him to .753, so far.
