Will someone please post some Pedro M vids of striking people out. Vids like that is better than Moms chicken soup for my soul.
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
'Til we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine
This dude was sick.

I'd give anything to bat against Pedro just for fun

"SoxHop, who's SoxHop? I have no respect for that guy. I don't have anything to prove to that guy. He needs to be forcing himself to come up to where I am, to my level. When you talk about MVP 78, notin, Thunder, guys like that that you really tip your hat, that you can understand. But guys like SoxHop, what? So what? Who are you? Who are you SoxHop to try to test Pedro Martinez, a proven player for ten years? That's what I don't understand. Why would I hit SoxHop?"

So, my kindergarten teacher decided to use all of this downtime to go through some old projects, and found a bunch of photos of me and then sent them to us with a lovely hand written note. Some of these photos have the entire class in them, so if she only did this for me, that's truly amazing and humbling. Anyway, I still have vivid memories of that class. This was the 2004-05 schoolyear, and I remember talking about our ALCS comeback, but not anything about the World Series strangely enough. Either way, it brought a lot of joy to me in these unorthodox times, and I will make sure to write my own hand written letter in response
What a nice gesture by your former teacher. I keep saying that these small gestures can have a huge positive impact on somebody. We need more of this. Also, handwritten letters need to make a comeback. I used to love getting my pretty stationery out and writing letters to people.
I figured you would appreciate that. She was the first teacher I ever had, but today I realized that she has had more influence on me than almost any other teacher I've ever had. A couple of HS teachers and one middle school teacher might have something to say about it, but I still think about that class a lot, and I still carry a lot of what I learned around with me. We had a field trip to a bank, and we all got $2 bills to take home with us. I still keep mine in my wallet to this day. Small things like that reminded me how much of that class is still with me. The fact that it was 2004 though? Wow I feel old
