Haha. I could see that too. At least for a while.
Once you went 20 meters deep for a few months. You'd be like, "I wonder what 40 meters deep looks like".

How long does that take to kick in?
It would depend on what's on the island for me. Hawaii would be good I think. Year round golf is a major turn on, and I still get to watch major US sports via the local TV affiliates. There are many reasons why I would not want to live there full time though, many of which are based around the fact that's its at least a 5 hour flight to go anywhere else in the US, and how there is major disconnection from the outside world. Good place to be right now though. I would NOT mind being quarantined in paradise.
