Nice job Red!!!!
I wish I knew more about what the heck the Sox are doing with these injuries. Even if Mookie comes back, if Holts injury is more pull than strain they have to DL him and get a body in here.
Semi fugly........ but I'll take the win.
Porcello looking really good.
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
'Til we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine
That one was less fundamentals than mental mistake. He has to know that the man is going in hard to 2nd. Taking a quick look is appropriate, but making a shit throw with barely a look & going for a prayer throw across his body, is just plain dumb. The game just speeds up on this kid with regularity, and he's still a bit too young & green to slow it down.
Yeh. We're probably taking semantics, & likely saying the same thing. I just don't have a problem with a glance to second, it's the dumb pressing to make a big play, and putting your guys in a bigger jam.
Nice to see Porcello step up and be the "stopper" with help from Kimbrel.
Nice to see JD as a hitter and not just a power gut.
Nice to see the negative nannies takinga seat, if only just temporarily.
I'm still worries about Devers' learning curve falling within "the window," and now that he's not hitting really well, it becomes more noticable.
Hey, we were outhit and still won. I remember when that was almost unheard of.
Keep it going guys!

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Amazing, difficult win. Porcello is the ace on this squad, which I never thought I'd say. Devers left 7 on today and Moreland 4. JD had 4 of our 7 hits, scored 1 of our runs and batted in 2 others, so I frankly didn't give a shit if he misjudged (waited too long to go back) a shot to LF.
It's possible Leon is a better defensive catcher than Vazquez.
