"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.
"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

JAWS gives the edge to Pedroia at the moment.
Theo did not acquire Youk & Pedey after the Nomar trade.
Our SSs after OCab were disasterous- not "no big loss".
Crisp never reached expectations and was a drop off from Damon. We got Ellsbury for OCab, and I mentioned that as a qualified gain post Nomar.
Letting Pedro & Lowe go was the right call.
Theo did good after Nomar.
Again, I'll bring the list out tonight.
A lot was good. A lot was okay.
A lot was not good.
Overall I believe Theo was a very good GM for us , but he definitely had some bumps in the road. His drafts from 06-10 were rough. but he was the GM for two World Series and his 11 draft could go down as one of the greatest.
Has done a great job with the Cubs. Broke the team down to nothing and built a world championship team in 5 years.
PECOTA projects the Red Sox as AL East champs with 90 wins (and the Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros as divisional champs with 92 and 93 wins, respectively):
