How do you see this team finishing the season?
August show this team got good starting pitching to win every night. The rest has to show up.
I can't predict what will happen in the postseason (and therefore can't vote) because
1. Anything can and does happen.
2. We don't know who our opponent will be in each round of the playoffs.
What I do predict is that the Jays will edge us out for the division, but we will make the playoffs as a WC team.
I'm not sure either.
I would like the Sox to finish first because I think that gives them a better chance at advancing.
Plus, I think it would enable them to hopefully line up their starting pitching better with a little more rest.
I have a feeling Kimmi is right about Toronto edging the Sox out for first.
If the Sox are healthy enough and the bats awaken they could go to the series and win. No one in the AL is a powerhouse and I don't see the Cubs being invincible.
This team is in much better position to finish well than before the 4 and 5 slots were filled with functional arms. So I've backed off my doom and gloom projection.
"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.
"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."
I voted for World Series win, why not? If you're going to do silly things like predict the unpredictable, you might as well go for broke.
Um, who would vote for a loss in the Wild Card game which is a coin flip?
Get to the ALCS--a significant accomplishment. The Sox have an inconsistent bullpen and a lineup that struggles now and then. Who woulda thunk the rotation would be a plus by August with six decent starters?
