Top of the league but its only three games, of thirty eight, old. We'll probably finish top six. They have dramatically reduced the wage bill but made some money available for transfers. I feel they won't invest to make us successful again, just enough to keep us up near the top. We are massively supported throughout the world and there is big money to be made. So far they are doing ok, we'll just have to wait and see. We love Linda though
Who delivers ten times out of ten? Thats right baby.

British soccer is a joke, where about four teams have a monopoly on the top four spots and you're lucky if it's a year where Man Utd doesn't win the title. In Scotland it's even worse with Celtic and Rangers completely dominating the league (until Rangers got kicked out for going bankrupt and had to start again at the ground floor). Also, look at the English Premier League and the teams are dominated by players from other countries - no wonder the national team continues to struggle - where are the opportunities for English-born players?

Soccer in general is just terrible. How the game became popular in almost every country, I will never understand.

I don't understand the point of soccer myself. Baseball and basketball at least have a clear objective, which is why I play them.

Because it's really easy to play, the rules are minimal, and you don't need much equipment. Kids around the world throw down some sweaters for goalposts and use any ball they can get hold of, even a tennis ball will do. I love that we have a game that is universal like that. Doesn't mean I want to watch a 90 minute goalless tie, though.

Soccer's objective is about as simple as it gets - certainly as simple as basketball. Stick the ball through that wooden frame at the end of the pitch. Stop the other team from putting it through yours.

And why people riot and kill each other over it I will never understand.

I think it's a very physically demanding sport that is not easy at all to play. Just never took an interest.

I saw today that England is playing Ukraine in Kiev this week, and some of the English fans got beaten up and hospitalized by a gang of 30 with balaclavas and broken bottles.

As far as I know, most deadly soccer riots happen in poor countries where tensions are already at boiling level. I don't think soccer was the cause of it.

If I don't have a wager on a soccer match, I really don't care about the outcome. Same goes for most other sports.

It's not just riots. There's a subsection of fans of almost any team looking for trouble vs opposing fans, whether it's in Europe or South America. That's why they have to keep them segregated at games and police the fuck out of the area around the stadium.

When she was referring to people killing each other, I assumed she was talking about that riot that happened in Egypt.

I've never been to Europe, but I hear it's more racist than the States. People that get into fights over a game should be institutionalized.
