Frankie Simek and John Harkes - USA, USA, USA!!!

I also have a bit of a soft spot for Roy Wegerle just for having such a fantastic strange surname.

I've only been to one soccer game but it was absurd, people were lighting flares and throwing trash onto the field and blowing horns and fighting.

I've never had a desire to go to France. But I know many people that have. They all loved it.

Someday I hope to be in a position to tour the Alps on a motorcycle. France will be on my list of places to see.

A few days late but how about my Spurs winning 1-0 @ Man City to lock up a spot in the Champions League. Good stuff.

    Bump.

Just to show our new friends that there are members that follow football.

We also had a World Cup thread. Just look in "Other Sports".

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Well done, you are catching on.

Did they show all the matches on mainstream TV or did you have to go via sports channel ?

IN the Uk and Europe, its prime time tv, the tv stations have to reschule progammes if it goes into extra time

Not all the games were on. But many were on ESPN.

Decided this can go here for want of a better thread.

Never heard of this happening in a match before, at any level.
    Priorities:
    1. Yankees lose
    2. Red Sox win

Hopefully this leads to a firesale of all their players and the Red Sox payroll ballooning to $300 million.
