Forgot about the game...not sure how.

How did the runs score?

Chone Figgins started things off with a single to center, then Julian Tavarez walked Orlando Cabrera. Vlad Guerrero followed with a single to left that Manny Ramirez picked up on one hop and fired home, but the throw was high and catcher Kevin Cash had to jump for it as Figgins slid in easily. Garret Anderson lined out to center, and Cabrera tagged to third. Then Gary Matthews Jr. knocked him in on a fielder's choice.

Oh and I forgot the rest....

The next batter was Casey Kotchman who lined one deep to right. Kielty -- playing his first game ever for the Sox -- leaped at the wall and robbed a home run while crashing into the wall, and doubled over in pain. He then got his first Fenway standing ovation on the way back to the dugout.

Oh well one game. I knew going into today that it wouldve been a loss. Tho I thought it would be because of Julian Tavarez. The offense did again show some life at the end of the game (happening more recently), but they are facing K-Rod after all. Kielty had a great Sox debut with 2 hits and robbing Kotchman of a 2 run HR in the 1st inning. I really believe he will be a solid presence off of the bench. Gagne had a great outing as well, tho it came with the Sox trailing

Am I panicking? Nope not in the least. The rotation, offense, and bullpen is too talented not to take advantage of the next 7 games before they head on to New York for the biggest series of the year. Every pitch counts! This is baseball, the clock is ticking to the end of the season... its fucking on Fuckers!

Ray10
08-19-2007, 11:15 PM
Well it wasn't that bad of a game the bats came alive near the end of this one and Taverez pitched really well. There were alot of positives in this one like Bobby Kielty's debut he had a great night and the way Gagne was able to come in and K three batters and not give up a run a big improvement for him of late. Either way the Sox played better than what the score was. We should bounce back in the next one.

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned, but Cabrera thought Tavarez was trying to hit him during the game because of something Tavarez said to him in Anaheim about Cabrera stealing signs from the catcher when he's up to bat.

Tavarez also outed Lugo as a sign stealer, saying he likes to signal batters when he's on second. He said he would hit Lugo if he were playing for another team.
