View Full Version : August 7th @ Anaheim - The Most Pathetic Game of the Season

Okay. Time for more "schillingouttheks" mojo. Hopefully we can have lots of it, too. Get hits with runners in scoring position, please. Mirabelli's in the lineup tonight and I would pretty much bet my life that he'll revert back to his old self rather than having a repeat of the last time he played. Whatever. Just win please.

Teams: Boston Red Sox (68-44) @ Anaheim Angels (65-46)
First Pitch: 10:05pm EDT

Hello 5-game lead.

I'm very happy with that 5-game lead going into the upcoming baseball. I was nervous it would be even smaller given the teams that the Yanks and Sox have been playing, but now that the Yanks will actually have good opposition and we can start playing the sucky teams a bit more, I'm not worried yet.

We just took 2/3 in Seattle. I'm happy with that. Anaheim is a very good team and finishing this brief west coast road trip with a 3-3 record against these two teams is a success, IMO.

The night gets better as the juicer hits #756, great for the rest of the game thats what theyll be talking about. Nah Schil, it might be more tame, but for the rest of the week they'll be talking about 756, hall of fame, steroids. The talk will not go away until Bonds walks away from baseball

So tomorrow we have Jon Lester vs Dustin Moseley. Could be a win, could be a loss. Lester is pitching the same way he did last year (5/6 innings, hit batters, walks, early deep pitch counts). While the yankees actually face a good pitcher, Wang vs halladay. So hopefully heading into the O's series we'll be up by 5 games

I like the sound of that too, but the fact is that if this team isn't playing well they will lose the lead. They are a good team and are in good shape, but they will still need to execute against these teams who would LOVE to knock the Sox off their pedestal.

Just got back from the game. The third base coach sending Lowell and that 7 out 5th inning killed us. Were a hell of a lot of red sox fans there..seemed like 40% were sox fans.
Don't know if they showed it on NESN but there was a really funny thing. They were doing the kiss cam thing in between innings and were showing a bunch of people and then they showed don and jerry. Jerry turned to Don and put his arms out and Don either had a mouth full of water or food and looked like he was trying everything not to laugh and trying to get away from Jerry.
A highlight of the game at least <_<

The world's not ending.

No, but the division lead is. The Red Sox have been an extremely flawed team all season that got unbelievable pitching the first 1/3 of the season. Unless Manny and Papi start going off, I see this team fading right into second place. Maybe the wild card...:dunno:

If that Aug 28th series is entered with a less than 5 game lead, then you may be in trouble.

The Sox have over 98% odds to make the playoffs. What trouble?
