OK, biggest series of the year so far. Granted, it's only June (sson to be July) but in my heart, it feels like a playoff atmosphere. I wanna sweep those bastards so badly. I wanna crush them into oblivion, and that all starts with Derek Lowe tonight. I believe he is the key to this series. If he shuts them down in the first game and we win, I think we'll sweep the series. Let's win, damnit!

Lets hope the team has the killer instinct tonight, because we all know the mfy will. The Sox need to sweep this series!

We MUST win 2 of 3. A sweep would be nice. I think tonight's game is the one that we are the most likely to lose, so Lowe having a big game could mean a sweep.

The key is Lowe outpitching Vazquez. I think both bullpens are about equal, and both bullpens are VERY good. I honestly think the team leading after 6 innings is going to win this game.

The problem for us in this series is that the MFY are mashing the ball, and we're being inconsistent. Our rotation has the edge, our bullpens are about equal, and their lineup has the edge.

Lowe has had one good and one bad outing against the Yanks, this is by far the hardest game of the series for us. I really wish Schill was pitching, at least we avoid Arroyo.

Wake has been dominant against the Yanks of late, lets hope he can continue.

Man, I wish I didn't have such a god awful feeling about this series. Ugh, it's nauseating.

Lowe has been better, but had a so-so outing last time out... Wakefield just isn't getting it done.

I don't feel confident that the Red Sox will win ANY of these games. I just don't. I'm not confident in any starter right now other than Schilling... Pedro is going up against some nobody. Last time that happened, he allowed 4 runs in the 1st inning and the kid shut our offense completely down with an 89 mph fastball.

Way to go JOHNNY!!!!

Now we need to take about 7 or 8 more on and we'll be set. Lowe tends to explode in these situations.

Great job, D-Lowe...

MORE RUNS!

Millar showing us the good kind of strikeout, if there is such a thing. Tire that guy out! Get to the pen early in game 1!

JOOOOOHHNNNY!!

JOOOOOHNNNY!!

We need some other contributors too though, and we need men on base so we can rack up some more runs...

We are still at risk here, DLowe is not pitching his best game, it's going to take a lot more to win this one.

Fuck 'em all. These are not your 2003 Boston Red Sox. They are the biggest underachievers I have ever seen. They have soooooo much talent, and yet they are 6.5 behind the Yankees and are playing with the likes of the Twins, White Sox, and A's. God I hope they prove me wrong, but I can't see this team winning a World Series this. it sucks, I know. Like I said, I hope they prove me wrong.

:D Yup. There is no small-ball in Beantown. Grady may have made a historical blunder AND sucked with the media, but he had baseball insticts (right or wrong). Francona is all stats.

I knew this would happen all year. There is no way, under Tito's guidance that this team, even if it gets into the playoffs, will win it all. Period. If it somehow does, it will be entirely because of the players - not the manager. BTW, that's the same arguement that lost Grady his job.

On a sidenote, the idea of Bellhorn at 1b has me interested - so long as he can catch the ball. But I have no faith.

I know I will get yelled at for bandwagoning (I think... ) but I have said all along this team won't do it. Please quote me in Oct. and prove me wrong.. (but it ain't gonna happen with this particular team)

The good news for all of you is that every time I post here on Talksox.com, my negative posts are dismantled by a great RS win, so here's to tomorrow. And cheers!

Well, didn't expect to win last night with Lowe, but I didn't expect to get blown out.

These next two I EXPECT to win. Leiber and Halsey have been terrible, we better rack up some major runs and take this series.
