ESPN has compiled all of the surprising stats from this year's spring training. An enjoyable read, good for a laugh or two.

AL East
Blue Jays: Pitching staff has a 5.70 ERA (13th in AL) in 28 games, giving up 31 homers. RHP Miguel Batista is 3-1 with a 2.37 ERA in five games, holding opponents to a .206 average.

Devil Rays: Rank third in team ERA (4.33) behind the Twins and Yankees. Opponents are batting .190 against RHP Paul Abbott (1-0, 3.38). Jose Cruz has a team-best 10 RBI.

Orioles: Rank last in the AL in slugging (.407), hitting only 20 homers in 28 games. C Javy Lopez leads the team with three homers.

Red Sox: David McCarty (.810) and David Ortiz (.796) lead the AL in slugging percentage. McCarty has seven home runs. Curt Schilling (2-1, 2.10) has 25 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings.

Yankees: Pitchers allowed an AL-low 14 homers in 22 games, going 13-9 with a 4.24 ERA (2nd in AL). RHP Kevin Brown is 2-2 with a 1.86 ERA in five games. Hideki Matsui has 18 RBI (t-2 in AL).

AL Central
Indians: Rank first in the AL in on-base percentage (.380) and 12th in slugging (.435). Coco Crisp, who's batting .387, leads the team with 15 RBI.

Royals: CF Carlos Beltran has the second-highest AL average (.456) and SS Angel Berroa leads the league in runs (20). Don't judge Rich Thompson by his average: .238. Thompson leads the team with 17 RBI and is tied for the league lead in steals with six.

Tigers: Committed a major-league worst 57 errors in 31 games. Tiger pitchers have hit 21 batters and walked 112 ? both league highs. C Ivan Rodriguez has 16 hits and 17 total bases in 20 games.

Twins: RHP Kyle Lohse has an AL-best 1.42 ERA in five games, holding opponents to a .183 average. Super utilityman Michael Cuddyer is batting .404 with a team-high five homers and 17 RBI. Brad Radke has allowed 14 earned runs in 19 innings.

White Sox: Lead the AL in slugging percentage (.494) and batting average (.318). The pitching staff has a 5.12 ERA. Jose Valentin has an AL-best four triples.

AL West
Athletics: Eric Byrnes, Eric Chavez, Bobby Crosby and Jermaine Dye combined have hit 19 homers and driven in 57 runs. The A's lead the AL in home runs (44) and RBI (193). Opponents are batting .311 against Tim Hudson (2-3, 6.57).

Angels: Belted 34 homers (Jose Guillen, 6; Troy Glaus, 5; Vladimir Guerrero, 3) in 30 games. Rank last in the AL in team ERA (5.85).

Mariners: DH Edgar Martinez leads the AL in RBI (21) and Ichiro Suzuki is tops in OBP (.525). Jamie Moyer (2-1, 2.37) held opponents to a .206 average in four games.

Rangers: 3B Hank Blalock shares the AL lead in home runs (7) and total bases (47) with Boston's David McCarty. The Rangers rank 12th in team ERA (5.65). RHP Chan Ho Park has allowed 16 earned runs, 22 hits and nine walks in 22 1/3 innings.

NL East
Braves: Rank eighth in team ERA (4.70). Closer John Smoltz has a 5.14 ERA in seven innings of work. RF J.D. Drew is hitting .410 and leads the team with five home runs and 16 RBI. RHP Russ Ortiz hit .429 (3-for-7) in six games.

Expos: Rank first in saves (10) and tied for first in wins (18) with the Brewers. CF Peter Bergeron is hitting .371 and is tied for third in the NL in stolen bases (5).

Marlins: Rank first in the NL in team ERA (3.58), fourth in batting (.281) and are tied for first in home runs (33) with the Phillies, Reds, Pirates and Giants. Issued only 68 walks, fewest in NL. RHP Josh Beckett is first in innings pitched (30.1) and second in strikeouts (26). OF Abraham Nunez leads the league in home runs (9), slugging percentage (.981) and total bases (53) and is tied for first in RBI (19).

Mets: Lead the NL in errors (41). 1B Mike Piazza is second in the league in RBI (18). LHP Tom Glavine is 0-3 with a 2.65 ERA in 17 innings.

Phillies: Rank last in team batting (.255), on-base percentage (.309) and runs scored (116). Closer Billy Wagner has a 6.00 ERA in nine innings. RHP Kevin Millwood allowed 22 runs (21 earned) on 30 hits in 18.2 innings.

NL Central
Astros: Rank third in team ERA (3.66) and first in hits allowed (243). LHP Andy Pettitte leads the NL in ERA (0.96). RHP Roger Clemens is 3-2 with a 1.59 ERA in 17 innings. Offensively, team has the fewest hits (243) in the league.

Brewers: Had their first winning spring campaign since 1995. Rank third in team batting (.283) and doubles (70); second in RBI (161) and walks (104); and first in stolen bases (31). Australian INF Trent Durrington has the most steals in the NL (8).

Cardinals: Pitchers allowed only 19 home runs (2nd in NL). Only the Marlins gave up fewer big flies (17). LF Albert Pujols is hitting .381 (24-for-63) with two home runs and 10 RBI. C Mike Matheny is hitting .375 (18-for-48) with one home run and eight RBI.

Cubs: Rank first in the major leagues in attendance at home (177,008) and on the road (151,326). Cubs pitchers lead the NL in strikeouts (240) and walks (115). RHP Kerry Wood leads the league in wins (5) and is second in ERA (1.05). RF Sammy Sosa is hitting .396 (21-for-53) with four home runs, seven doubles and 12 RBI.

Pirates: CF Tike Redman has a team-high 24 hits (3rd in the NL). RF Craig Wilson is tied for third in the NL in doubles (7). Closer Jose Mesa has a 0.90 ERA in 10 innings.

Reds: Pitchers lead the NL in wild pitches (19), while hitters have the most strikeouts (226). RF Adam Dunn is hitting .404 (19-for-47) and leads the team with six home runs and 14 RBI. CF Ken Griffey Jr. hit .158 (6-for-38) in 15 games. RHP Danny Graves has a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings.

NL West
Diamondbacks: The Diamondacks lead the NL in batting (.288) and are second in on-base percentage (.344). 2B Matt Kata leads the league in batting average (.491), on-base percentage (.525), runs scored (18) and is second in hits (27), slugging percentage (.873) and total bases (48). LF Luis Gonzalez is tied for first in hits (28) and RBI (19).

Dodgers: Rank near the bottom in the NL in team ERA (5.56) and home runs allowed (34). LHP Odalis Perez leads the league in strikeouts (28) and is third in ERA (1.73). OF Jason Romano is tied for second in the league in runs (16) and has a team-high 13 RBI. C Paul Lo Duca is hitting .348 (16-for-46) with three home runs and seven RBI. 3B Adrian Beltre is hitting .319 (15-for-47) with three home runs and 12 RBI.

Giants: Team ERA (5.67) is second worst in the NL. LF Barry Bonds is hitting .290 (9-for-31) and is tied for third in the league in home runs (6). RF Michael Tucker, SS Neifi Perez and INF Pedro Feliz share the team lead in hits with 17.

Padres: Rank second in team batting (.285) and first in slugging (.457). The Padres have three players in top ten in batting: 2B Mark Loretta (.475), SS Ramon Vazquez (.417) and 3B Sean Burroughs (.412). Loretta is tied for first in hits (28) and is second in on-base percentage (.516). Burroughs also has 28 hits and is second in runs scored (16). Rank last in team ERA (6.07) and home runs allowed (38).

Rockies: 1B Todd Helton is tied for second in the NL in home runs (6). 2B Aaron Miles is tied for first in triples (3). Closer Shawn Chacon has a 0.90 ERA in 10 innings.

It's the complete opposite of what you'd expect in almost every category. But its always like that I guess.
