Hell yeah, we own the D-Rays. Glad to see them beat the Yankees a few times..let's hope that continues. Too bad the Angels are banged up more and playing the Yankees, though I liked that late game heroics last night. Back up a half game baby!!

Boston expects dominating performances from Curt Schilling, and the Red Sox got one in the right-hander's first outing against Tampa Bay this season. Pitching 7 1/3 innings, Schilling shut out the Devil Rays on five hits for the victory. He also fanned eight and walked nobody.

Of course, he might like to match former teammate Randy Johnson, who fired a perfect game on Tuesday.

Tampa Bay was also victimized by outstanding pitching on Tuesday. Rather than coming from the heat of Schilling or Johnson, though, it was the flutter of Tim Wakefield's knuckleball that had the Devil Rays baffled. After allowing a leadoff single in the first, Wakefield set down the next 13 batters en route to a seven-inning, three-hit performance.

Boston has won all four matchups between the two teams this season and owns a 24-6 advantage in the scoring department. Since 2001, the series has swung heavily in Boston's favor with the Red Sox going 46-15 vs. the Devil Rays.

Now these are the sox we've come to know.

Manny, 2-run jack, 4-1 Sox.

It's also worth mentioning Ortiz hit another double, I believe he is at 16 now, he is the AL leader.

ortiz if he could get his average way up is a triple crwon threat, but thats another arguement for another thread

Ortiz can't hit for average though, so he won't ba e triple crown threat, and his homers dont put him anywhere near the top yet.

Ortiz is an extra base hitter, I RARELY see him hit singles. He either strikes out or gets an XBH.

usually his singles are long singles that would be doubles for quicker players

that happened to me earlier this year too. one time i saw ortiz just try to crush one and missed the ball. i said ortiz, yOU SUCK, then the next pitch he proceeds in bombing one

I was very unimpressed by Bellhorn's two recent fielding blunders. I don't know if we can continue to give away outs.

Damn, towards the end of the game it was sounding more like Fenway park. When Foulke closed the door the place erupted (or it erupted as much as the trop can). Good to see we can take over a stadium like that. :D
