today vs halladay the hits will be few and far between, so they will have to capitalize on his few mistakes. if we have any chance to win petey needs to throw a gem. i dont think right now that we have the ability (unlike last year) to win a 11-10 type of game. our bats have been good lately, lets see if they can come up with some clutch hitting tonight.

GO SOX!!!

I see your error was fixed. :D

The game's at 1:05 on NESN. This is the third time Pedro has faced Halladay this season alone. Pedro won the previous two and only allowed two earned runs over 14 2/3 innings. We probably won't score more than 4 runs off of him (if the other two games against him are any indication). Pedro should be dominant though since he struck out 11 after struggling just a bit in the beginning of the last game, and I don't think its a stretch at all to say that this could be a win for the sox.

This is as good as baseball gets. Two great pitchers facing two good offenses. Expect something like 4-2 or 5-3 Red Sox.

I think coming off Arroyo's performance, Pedro should be confident and do well. Plus, Youkilis is playing again, so the sox automatically win.

My prediction for Pedro: 7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 8 K, 1 BB, plus he beans Delgado in the head once.

Youkilis will go 1-2 with 2 walks.

Also, quick question...why didn't Varitek start yesterday?

A pretty clean game so far, well pitched by both aces.

OK, the obligatory 2 runs in a Pedro outing. He'll be lights out for the rest of the game.

So frusterating, why not take pitches and get Halladay out of the game. He probably threw 9 pitches that inning.

Well, Ok, Halls is out. I guess they did their job. Now we need RUNS.

An unfortunate loss. :( But look on the bright side, Youki showed even more potential and skill!

Hell yeah he did.
And Pedro had a pretty good outing anyway, the offense wasn't there.

Yankees won today despite a great outing by Joel Piniero, who went 8 innings giving up just two, but seattle could manage just 1 run off yankee pitching. The yanks reclaim 1st place.

The hitting woes stopped for a while, and they're back on now (or in this game at least). Its crazy that we can go from 9 runs in a game a few nights ago to 1. Youkilis was the hitting bright spot, but everyone else just plain sucked. Pedro pitched well enough to get a win, 3 runs is certainly sufficient for a major league offense to work from.

But you got to hand it to halladay, he pitched pretty well. 2-1 in Pedro's favor now in the P vs H matchups.

What's interesting is that the sox managed to lose their two aces' starts, and still split the 4 game series. Goes to show how well our pitching is performing now I guess. It's good when our 4 and 5 guys give us as good a chance as any to win. I figured I'd look on the bright side at least, ya know?
