The Sox have six of the first 59 picks in the next draft as the result of losing Pedro and Lowe to free agency. Is this something we should be excited about?

My personal favorite for our #23 pick would be Taylor Teagarden out of Texas. He's an outstanding defensive catcher with excellent power potential and an advanced knowledge of the strikezone. His plate discipline is actually better than Shoppach's was at that age, which is part of why Shopp was a 2nd rounder and Teagarden may not be on the board still at #23, but I remain hopeful.

I would hope the Sox focus on pitching with all 6 picks. We can go out and get almost any position player we want to pay for. They come in much cheaper than pitching. I would love it if the Sox went all pitching in this year's draft. Though I'm sure they'll go after more shortstops and firstbasemen. :(
