Dear Red Sox Fans,
You are invited to join us here in "Spring Training Land", Fort Myers, FL, for a fun, unique event called: "Selling Our 'Soles' to Benefit the American Lung Association." We're auctioning athletes and other celebrities' shoes!
Thanks for letting me take a second to tell you about it.
Kevin Millar generously donated a pair of autographed cleats. They can be seen online at www.ISpamTalksox4Fun.com (click shoe icon, then click "auction catalog" to scroll to Lot 16, Kevin's cleats).
If planning to be in town for Thursday's 1:00 p.m. Spring Training game in Fort Myers, please join us after the game at Shoeless Joe's restaurant and sports bar (Bell Tower area) at 5:00 p.m. for the "Shoe Preview" and "sole" music, like "I'm a Soul Man", "Blue Suede Shoes", "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under," etc.
Then the auction begins at 6:30 p.m. EST in the Holiday Inn Select Ballroom, just down the hall. If pre-registered (no charge), you can participate online in real time. Or place your bid in advance and let the computer do the work for you.
Other shoes included: Arnold Palmer, Jackie Chan, Wayne Newton, Ellen DeGeneres, Leeza Gibbons, Diane Sawyer, Twins baseball player, Mets, and many more! Again, just visit www.GulfLung.org . It's easy to participate!
All funds received help find a cure for lung diseases, as well as send Florida children to Summer Asthma Camp at Boggy Creek (north of Orlando), help smokers kick the habit, assist COPD and emphysema sufferers in breathing easier, improved air quality, just for starters!
