It's marked on my calendar as baseball tryouts, but apparently there's some rule against having tryouts/practice so many days in a row, and having them on that day would break that rule, and the coach is old enough to be losing track of such things. If it does conflict, any time in the afternoon or evening would be okay.

The competition will be tough. Thunder in his first season went wire to wire in the regular season. UN is always tough. SFOC is rejoining the league and he usually has one of the top teams and has won the league multiple time. iortiz is always very tough for me to beat even in the years when I win the Championship. My crown is in peril. ;)

I am shocked that the 2 powerhouses of the league -- Mookie and Moises Mooses were eliminated in back to back weeks. iortiz obliterated my team in the first round 10-0. I might have put up a more respectable showing if I had Strasburg and deGrom available, but I was still going to lose. My surprise was that iortiz throttled Moises Mooses (MVP) almost as badly (9-1). MVP's team was much better than mine, and he only lost 1 game all season. Thunder had the best record in the league last year when I took him down. Yes, there is a set draft day with bench spots. You play head to head for a week against another team. You get a point for each category you win for that entire week (hits, rbi, k's, WHIP, saves, etc). You set your lineup each day.

Biggest difference to fantasy football is that you are looking at your lineup almost daily rather than once a week.

In terms of setting rosters, I probably look at my roster 2-3 times a week. I also don't think you necessarily have to think about it that much prior to the draft. The more research you do, the more confusing the draft process becomes.

My pitching crapped out in the playoffs. I didn't throw any chairs and blame small sample sizes and randomness like Billy Beane though. It was because my chakras were not aligned.

I always let the computer draft my teams for me. Otherwise, there would be far too much second guessing and stressing myself out.

I know you all don't understand, but playing fantasy was very stressful for me in the last 3 years or so. The only reason I continued playing was because of the people I played with. I have tried directly calling out people that spend a lot of time posting here -- some of the proud sabremetricians, but they have shrunk from the challenge. As much as I'm an advocate for stats, I realize that they're not the only way to succeed in the fantasy sports setting. This coming from 2015's runner-up, 2016's champ, and a two time defending fantasy football champ. So, until you win the title, not having stat heads can't be deemed a problem.

We are at 8 teams, and Southpaw777 has been invited as he expressed an interest in joining. If he joins and we get one more new owner, the league will have 10 teams. That is a good size. I would rather have the league have 10 active teams than 12 teams with some inactive owners. We need one more brave TalkSox soul to step up to the plate.
